a home, not an institution

Beneath Tâmpa mountain, in the Șchei quarter, we have prepared a residence for your parents and for those dear to you. 20 places, each with its own story. Our own kitchen, people who stay here for years, time for coffee and for conversation.

Why we are different

Why we are different from a classic nursing home

01

A world, not a corridor

Room for stories, for Sunday visits, for grandchildren who arrive with drawings in their hands. The house has a courtyard and a terrace, has corners where you can sit alone if you wish, and a long table where you can sit together if you choose.

02

People who stay

The same nurses, the same cooks, the same familiar faces. Here, staff do not leave after 6 months. That means if your mother asks for tea with milk, a month later the same lady brings it to her — already knowing her favourite cup.

03

Time for each person

20 residents. Not 80. Not 200. Nothing on an assembly line. Time to ask for coffee when you want it, not only at 9 sharp. Time to comb your hair the way you want, not the way someone is rushing.

The story of this place

We inherited a house in Șchei. We chose to turn it into a residence.

Pensiunea Pietrele lui Solomon was for years a place where people came for the mountain air and for the calm of the old town. The family that cared for it learned something you do not learn at school: how to make someone feel at home from the first day.

Then we began to receive different requests. Families asking whether we could host a parent. A grandmother. Someone who no longer wanted to live alone. And we realised what we should do next was clear: turn the guesthouse into a residence for seniors, keeping what was best — the kitchen, the garden, the people who worked here — and adding what is needed for a home for parents.

That is how Luxury Senior Residence was born. 20 rooms. Registered nurses 24/7. A cook who asks every evening "what would you like tomorrow". A terrace where, if you look through the lime tree leaves, you can see Tâmpa.

— and we keep talking, on the terrace, at four in the afternoon

What we have here

Our home, unhurried.

We kept what was good from the guesthouse — the building, the garden, the kitchen. We added what a home for your parents needs.

Rooms with memories

20 places, distributed in single and double rooms. Each room has its own bathroom, large windows, a wardrobe for everything you wanted to bring from home — the painting, the radio, the mattress you are used to.

A kitchen like mother's

Menu changed daily, hand-written on the board in the dining room. Three main meals plus two snacks. Ciorbă (Romanian sour soup) at noon — warm, not lukewarm. Special diets are taken seriously: diabetes, gluten-free, salt-free.

✿ 3 meals + 2 snacks · special diets · water, coffee, tea throughout the day

Terrace, courtyard, the park across the street

The courtyard is arranged with comfortable chairs and a long table where people gather for coffee. The terrace has a view of Tâmpa through the lime trees. And if you step out the gate, in 2 minutes you are in the park — perfect for an evening walk, accompanied or alone, as you choose.

✿ free access · ergonomic chairs · soft lighting in the evening

Permanent care

Registered nurses on shift 24/7. Periodic monitoring of health status. Correct administration of treatment — no forgetfulness, no confusion. Emergency protocol with our in-house medical team.

✿ daily access · physiotherapist · adapted equipment

Family is always welcome

We have no strict visiting hours. Come in the evening, in the morning for coffee, or on Sunday for lunch — here, with the resident. We have a tablet for video calls, if your daughter or son lives in Germany, England, Italy.

✿ visits anytime · video call · accommodation nearby, when needed

How a day passes

The rhythm of a day, not of a schedule.

Nothing is mandatory apart from meals and treatment. The rest settles naturally — the way any of us would on a good day.

8:00

Coffee, slowly.

Whoever wishes, wakes up. Coffee with milk is already made. Mrs M., always the first to arrive, reads the paper in her corner of the sofa.

13:00

Lunch, at the long table.

Soup, main course, dessert. Whoever prefers their room, receives it there. Nothing cold. Nothing rushed.

17:00

Tea on the terrace, with Tâmpa in front.

Tea, biscuits, conversation. Or silence, if that is the day. Staff check the treatment without interrupting the conversation.

Where to find us

In Șchei, beneath Tâmpa. The old town in 8 minutes on foot.

We are on Strada Pe Tocile, number 97, in the heart of the historic Șchei quarter. Your steps will carry you to Piața Sfatului in 8 minutes. Across the street there is a park — good for an evening walk. And if you look up, Tâmpa is always there, a landmark. For guests coming from outside Brașov, you can reach us easily by car or with an Uber/Bolt from the centre — no more than 10-15 minutes from any corner of the city.
